Cintas would supply and service 11 units for three years: three at City Hall, one at the Farmers Market, three in parks (McGraft, Smith-Ryerson, Pere Marquette), three at Public Works, one at the water plant. Price on the form is $135 per unit per month — $17,820 a year, $53,460 over three years — plus a $400 credit for each old unit turned in. Cintas is on the state’s cooperative-purchasing list (MiDEAL). Staff say it is already in the budget. No amendment.

The city shop at 1350 E. Keating is about to get crowded — trailers, materials, parking. Immediately west is 1300 E. Keating, about 2.5 acres owned by Muskegon Charter Township, with a vacant former animal-control building left out of the deal. Township board already said yes on September 8. The city would be the tenant. Muskegon County is stepping back from older rights on the site so this can happen; the county still has a household-hazardous-waste license on part of the parcel,

Lakeside’s Meurer Court park may get charter protection

Commission can lock a 1.6-acre Lakeside parcel as a charter park so it stays park land unless voters say otherwise.

Commission is being asked, on the consent agenda, to lock in a small Lakeside park as a charter park.

Meurer Court is already on the city’s park list — about an acre and a half on a quiet street off Morton, not a beach. A charter park (the extra protection the city added to the charter in 1998) is park land that is supposed to stay a park. Selling it later would take a vote of Muskegon residents, the same idea that already covers places like Kruse and Hartshorn.

Tuesday night is a public hearing on a five-story building at 118 W. Clay — apartments over first-floor storefronts — and on the tax plan that would help pay for it.

The developer on the packet is Revilo Two GRR, LLC. Staff describe 40 units: 12 studios, 21 one-bedrooms, seven two-bedrooms. Total investment is about $12.9 million. Construction is aimed at spring 2027 and 15 to 18 months of work.
