Muskegon Residents share Questions for Mayoral Candidates

On July 12th chatMKG lead staff writer, Brian, hit the street to let Muskegon residents share their voices with the 2025 City of Muskegon Mayoral Candidates. The Muskegon Farmers' Market is always a hopping place and Saturday morning was no exception. Locals walked from nearby houses and apartments and an even larger number of people visited from surrounding municipalities. Brian even chatted with a few people from out of state.

Over the course of a few hours, several people shared ideas that our community may find of value. Public access to the shore along Muskegon Lake was mentioned, as well as our city's commitment to developing more park spaces. A local worship leader prayed for residents' ability to find value in our candidates messages in the hope we will make a wise choice for our next mayor. Others mentioned, health and wellness, walkability and bike lanes, and the desire to see our city leaders form more collaborative relationships with our neighboring municipalities.
