MKG Mayor Primary August 5th, 2025
While local folks are enjoying a beautiful Muskegon Summer, three Mayoral Candidates are busy making campaign promises, in the hopes of advancing beyond the August 5th, City of Muskegon Mayoral Primary. MKG holds a mayoral election every 4 years. This year, John Richard Allen and Bob Garretson are squaring off against incumbent, Ken Johnson. The Mayoral Primary, held on August 5th, is the first chance for Muskegon voters to cast a ballot for their desired candidate. It should be noted that only the TOP 2 VOTE-GETTERS WILL ADVANCE to the November 4th general election. The stakes are high for John, Bob, and Ken as one will be forced to rejoin the residential rank-and-file after the August 5th primary.
The City of Muskegon website can be difficult to navigate, but residents willing to search through multiple menus and webpages will find some pertinent City Commission and Election information. Relevant links have been included below for the convenience of our readers. If you're not yet registered to vote, fear not! Every Muskegon resident can register at anytime, even on Election Day, by visiting the City Clerk's Office with proof of residency. Mail-In Ballot options are also available for those not able to vote in person.
